How long did it take for your MTR process from the time you submitted till the time your attorney received the I485 re-opening letter?
Specifically, how long after sending MTR did you get the receipt notice that MTR was receive and how many days after that did the letter to reopen arrive?
I have an d MTR in the works in TX service center and trying to find how long they are taking these days.

What�s the logic behind USCIS receiving 500,000 Naturalization Applications in July and August 2007? How do the VISA numbers being current relate to Naturalization?!?!?!?!

Regarding affidavits, scanned copy is good enough.
Regarding passport, it might be an issue. My company & my friend's company asked to renew the passport if it is less than 6 months of expiry time.
You still have time to renew. Just a matter of 2days work if you go directly to the Indian consulate.....

I used the template on one of the other threads "I am a highly skilled... " attached the program for 7/14 Rally and the two letters from Zoe.. Express posted it to Arnie and it will be delivered tomm at Sacramento... Didnt save the word doc, so I wont be able to send it across.. sorry...

Thankyou! That's what I intend to do. We need to wait till we get the denial notice and then plan on MTR/Apeal. I am planning to consult more than one lawyer just to be safe. I just wanted to see if any of the forum members came across similar case.

actually our situation is similar to a bunch of people sitting under a mango tree ..the green mangoes on the tree represent the green card.
those waiting for the mango are standing on a uncertain muddy ground and few will sink in the sand (due to job losses).
we have some robbers (labor substitutions) who climb the tree, steal the mangoes and run away.
the natives (only the anti-immigrants) want to cut down the tree so that no immigrant gets a mango
a majority or us who are waiting patiently are the law abiding ...but we wait for the mango to fall on our head rather than doing something to make the mango fall ..while waiting we fight and discuss silly issues (whether we should buy a house - how to get our maid on visa :)).
some of us while our status was on quick sand - went ahead and built a house thinking that GC would follow
now if only all of us were to come up with an effective plan and shake the tree or throw tons of stones on the tree ..then maybe everyone would get a mango sooner.

I also got RFE from VSC for AP reg PP clear copies. In my case, lawyer asked to send me clear copies of bigraphic info which means first and last page of PP showing photo and name and other info. I scanned and sent color images to my lawyer. So strange that all VSC people are getting this RFE.
Online status simply shows, recieved and pending.. Does not reflect the RFE at all.

There are basically three options in your wife's case: Do nothing, file MTR, or travel abroad to obtain visa. It is not possible to evaluate these options without knowing the basis for the denial. Knowing whether or not your wife has a pending AOS along with a valid AP is also essential for making any recommendation about how to proceed.

I think it is like a orchard of mangoes miles long. The riped mangoes are plucked and the farmer moves on to the next tree. He has to walk up and down the whole stretch every month in the second week to determine what's ripe and what's not. He then comes back with his helpers with baskets . There might be some accidental drops of ripe mangoes which get lost for a while :) Just my analogy of EB immigration .

I am a F1 student and am on OPT now. I got my H1B visa approved from Oct-1 2006 to Sep-30 2009.
But my school said I cannot get my degree certificate till December 2006.
My question is when I apply for my Green card will I be considered into EB2 list or EB3 list. On what basis will this be decided.
Please suggest.

It is difficult to get H1b without client letter. Also many consulting companies stopped H1b because of RFE and denials. It is a good idea to try job to 2 to 4 more weeks.
Sorry to know about your layoff. What I would suggest is try to get a Consulting company ( maybe desi ) to transfer your H1. That would give you some leeway to find a project again.

Has anybody recently applied for a Schengen Visa, if yes, can you please let me know what you did for the travel insurance. The insurance from my employer (Humana) says they cover international but do not have a letter that states the same and Swedish consulate website says the letter should specifically say "International Coverage".
What are my options. Can you guys suggest where I can buy the insurance from.
I used TravelGuard. It was perfectly suited for the Schengen visa application. It cost ~$30 for the coverage amount the visa requires. There might be others, but this worked really well for me.

I am not trying to be rude. but really we should use some common sense. If you are visiting another state within US why would you need a visa? If you are still not sure check with the cruise ship customer service.

If FP is for EAD, one is likely to get EAD soon with fingerprints.
If FP is for GC, it usually gets OK in 2-10 days and then there will be a soft LUD. GC application remains in pending state for Priority Date, Processing Date and Name Check (now there is NC override of six months).
FP is not a bottleneck, except for few cases - they have not received FP notices for the past 8-10 months.
It is expected that Priority Date and Processing Date will be cause of delays
so my pd is current now september 2005 row , my rd is july 2nd 2007 , i had not receive fingerprint notice yet but last week i took infopass and io shedule for 28 th may 2008 ,

My first 3 years of H1B visa and I-94 expired on december,31,2009. My employer applied for my H1B renewal and got the approval notice (797A with I-94 part in the bottom valid from 1/1/2010 till end of 2012) expiring in end of 2012. I went to Canada for 4 days and got my 3 year visa extension stamped which is valid till end of 2012 for the same employer. They took off my old I-94 when I left to Canada and did not issue a new I-94 while entering the US. The officer just took a look at the 797 and said that I am good with the bottom part of the 797 itself and did not stamp any expiry date on the bottom part or did not issue a new I-94(white card).He just stamped the entry date and POE name on my passport. I checked with the CBP officer and she said that since the renewed visa and 797 is valid till end of 2012, I can use the bottom part of the 797 as the I-94 and it is valid till end of 2012. Is this correct?
I noticed that the bottom part of the 797 has the same number as my old I-94.
